"The memory that stands out the most is from about 4 years ago.
I was asked to record some music for this film in an empty farm silo. It made sense because the film was shot on the same property and the director wanted everything to look and sound cohesive. So we packed a bunch of gear from Toronto and drove to the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario.
Shortly after we arrived it started raining and we immediately realized the day was a complete bust. This structure is a giant reverb chamber so everything that even touches the metal roof gets amplified a thousand times and you can't really hear anything else. You would think that the rain might add a nice calming texture to an abstract film score but it sounded like you were microwaving a jar of nails in the middle of an old church."
